Zenvik This Blog Was Never Meant to Be Normal

This Blog Was Never Meant to Be Normal

Introduction

Not everything I build lives in code. Some things need to be written.
That’s why I started this blog.

Zenvik isn’t just another tutorial site. It’s not about “how-to’s” in the usual sense. It’s more of a personal corner on the internet — a cloud of thoughts I’ve decided to share. A space where I can think out loud, document what I build, and maybe, connect with a few minds along the way.

Before I go deeper into what Zenvik will become, let me tell you a little about myself. I’m Alex, 17 years old (as of October 16th, 2024), and currently working as an apprentice in metal construction. My job revolves around steel, profiles, and production — but my mind? It lives in code. My true passion has always been software development, infrastructure, and everything tech-related. That passion is one of the core reasons I started this blog.

At first, I wanted Zenvik to be a place where I simply document my processes — how I set up my infrastructure, what I’m currently working on, the occasional update, maybe even a newsletter. But over time, I realized that would be too narrow. Too technical. Too expected. And I’m not here to do what’s expected.

While I’ll still be sharing my production server setup and breaking down my workflows, I don’t want to limit myself. Zenvik will be about more than just infrastructure. I’ll write about anything tech-related that excites me — whether it’s hardware, software, self-hosting setups, tools I’ve discovered, or abstract thoughts that somehow still fit the space.

This blog is mine, but if you’re here, it’s yours too — and I hope you find something in it that speaks to you.

What Zenvik Stands For

The name ‘Zenvik’ came from an AI prompt – I didn’t plan it, I just saw it, and it felt right. Simple as that. Sometimes things don’t need a deep origin story. Sometimes they just click.

Why I Chose To Write Instead of Stay Silent

I chose to write because it felt right. It’s not something I planned on doing days or even weeks ago, it’s not something I thought I would be doing years ago. Yet, here we are – me, writing and you reading.

But, to be honest, I started writing because I felt too many people keep thoughts to themselves, and I was one of those people. Keeping things to myself, not talking about things that excite me.

A benefit writing gives you: When you have a blog, you don’t want to spread fake news (or so I assume, I know for damn sure I don’t want to) – and that leads to research. So, instead of sitting down and writing from the back of your memory, you sit down, research & take notes, until, eventually – you formulate a blog post based on your notes.

Amongst other benefits, that gives you a deepened understanding of what you are talking about, which is also another point of why I chose to do it: While Zenvik will most certainly be a place to talk about my interests, it will also be a place to learn – for me, and you.

You learn from hours of my research, and I learn from hours of other peoples research.

This Blog Is Not a Tutorial Site

Zenvik is a blog – not a tutorial site. While I will post Tutorials (i. E. a tutorial series on setting up a production ready server for your next project), Zenvik is not and will not be limited to tutorials. I will post other things on Zenvik (Which, you should check out – I do my best!)

What to Expect From Future Posts

In the future, I will be blogging about all-things tech (and maybe something non-tech related, from time to time.)

I will post documentaries of my personal workflows: How I set up fresh servers, how and where I purchase and manage my domains, and much more.

I will also post reviews on tools I have used or will try specifically for this blog (Also, if you’re a company reading this — yes, I’m tired. No, I won’t lie for money. But free gear? Let’s talk.)

TLDR: You can expect all-things tech, and some things non-tech (because this is my blog and I get to decide, haha)

Zenvik Is Not For Everyone – And That’s the Point

Zenvik is not for everyone. I write unfiltered, I express my thoughts the way they come to my mind. If you’re sensitive or don’t like my personality, that’s on you – Zenvik is a side-project, well it kind of is a primary project now, but – if you take life too seriously, be for real, what good will it do for ya? (No good, thought so).

What I want to say with that: If you don’t like my Blog or the way I write (or my humor, or my personality, or me as a person, wtv reason you have to dislike me) – Do us both the favor of just not reading and save yourself and me the energy of hate.

Love ya anyways, even if you don’t 🫶

Final Words – Let’s Build With Intention

I code SaaS & BaaS Projects in my free time, which will also get a special place on this blog. What I want to tell you with this section of this post: Build with intention – don’t just jump into your project like a castrated dog, think about your projects – give them time, and plan them right.

If you jump into stuff without making use of the gift of a consciousness, you’ll probably quit a day after you start.

Build intentionally, plan – give it time. Don’t expect to create something big in no time, that’s not how life works.

Little Side Note

I wrote this post at 1am, and I am tired like no other. Please excuse anything horrible about this blog post: Don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t be different if it was daytime, that’s just an excuse.

As a side note on the side note: Sometimes I have no idea what image to use for a post, so you’ll just see nature or whatever – since, I have reason to believe that people who actually read my blog have never seen or touched grass or the beach.

Anyways, bye!
